project #1 light in light out
Take a photo in the light of day Take a photo of an aspect of light Take a photo of the light of night
Print photographs – three copies of each
Stick one set to outside of shed wall of studio
15K North Street Norwood
Repeat this process each day over an expanse of time.
Let photo be exposed to the environment Observe Document
Take the second set of copies Use black felt marker to obscure name Use date stamp to mark that days date Travel to a location away from studio Place photos in spaces that are public Note position of some sites
(some locations will be uncharted to allow chance discovery)
Repeat this process each day over an expanse of time
Let the environment and human activity dictate their condition Let the environment and human activity dictate their fate Observe Document
Keep third set of prints for reference
project #2 canopy
Go to Seedling Art Space
Corner of Main Rd and Turners Road, Hawthorndene.
Walk from car park along track that is on the Turner Road side of the creek
Enter forest and walk the path until a junction of paths is reached.
Turn left and take path over creek and up the hill a short distance
Stop at tree with short cut branch stump to the right side of path - the shape of a tusk
Turn to the left walk into forest and lie down on the ground
Look up at the canopy Repeat all steps Visit site several times – take photos
On another day Repeat all the steps- take video camera
Place camera so that the lens faces the canopy Record the forest canopy for an hour
project #3 tree circle
Go to Seedling Art Space
Corner of Main Rd and Turners Road, Hawthorndene.
Walk from the car park along the track that is on the Turner Road side of the creek Enter forest and walk the path until a junction of paths is reached.
There is a tree in the centre of path junctions and a loose circle of trees surrounding it Take photographs of trees in circle about the central tree while standing with back to the tree. Take photographs of the central tree while standing with back to each tree in the circle.
Come back to site with photographs printed.
Place prints of circle of trees on central tree trunk Place prints of central tree on the trunk of the tree from which the photograph was taken
